About Me

I am Fiona Ambrose, a vegan, equestrienne, corset-making yogini, mistress of the dark arts (former public relations consultant) and part-time educator.

A late life diagnosis for dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia and ASD forced a huge detour career wise in my mid-50’s, which led to the path I am now on – working with horses, making bespoke costumes, browbands and hat covers and doing a bit of riding teaching here and there. I was very lucky to cross paths with little Coralina, who understands my passion for dressage and is happy to go along with my ambition to one day compete at Novice level. My alter ego is Spinderella, who occasionally appears in public normally attired in a peculiar costume of sorts. I live in a beautiful ancient woodland setting with my loving supportive partner and our three semi-feral rescue cats.

My muse is Baroness Von Elsa Freytag-Loringhoven, credited with being the original creator of Duchamp’s Fountain. Elsa was outrageous, a proto-punk challenging all codes of behavior, arrested for dressing in men’s clothes. One of the first performance artists she concocted and sported amazing costumes – tomato soup tins as a bra; hats of a bird cage (with bird) or a birthday cake complete with burning candles; tea-balls and cocktail spoons as jewelry. A woman for our time who passed away poverty stricken in Paris 1927.
